Victory of the Wings of the Soviets

“Wings of the Soviets” in the first half of the season showed attractive, attacking football. However, due to excessive waste and low realization of their own moments, the club struggled to score points. When the competition resumed, the “wings” lost in the first three rounds, but then picked themselves up and began to make progress. First, they took points from Orenburg (1:1), and then turned out to be stronger than the strong Sochi (2:1) of Kurban Berdiev. Thanks to this, Igor Osinkin’s team was able to break away from the play-off zone by 5 points.

Khimki in the winter transfer window almost completely renewed the squad to protect themselves from relegation. Such an adventurous step, as expected, did not bring any tournament dividends to the Moscow Region club. In the spring part of the championship, the team scored 1 point thanks to a draw with Fakel (1:1), having lost the last 4 games.

After a crushing defeat with Krasnodar (0:6) the board decided to dismiss coach Gogniew. His duties are temporarily performed by Rinat Bilyaletdinov. Under his leadership, “Czerwono-Czarni” played one match, in which they lost without a chance to CSKA (0:3).

Under these circumstances, Khimki will most likely continue to struggle due to the low level of interaction on the pitch. I think it will play a key role in a match against a direct opponent.
