Real Madrid have apparently solved most of their problems in the league, finishing second in the table after 28 matchdays. This is best seen in the match of the last round with Villarreal (2: 3), in which “cream” flew all thoughts in the Champions League play-offs. In the previous phase of the tournament, they confidently defeated unstable Liverpool (5:2, 1:0), and in the group stage they overtook Leipzig, Shakhtar and Celtic.

In the national championship, Carlo Ancelotti’s team leads in expected goals scored (xg = 2.11) and ranks in the top five in goals conceded (xga = 0.93).

Now, Chelsea is unlikely to count on a stable game. The team has only recently changed head coach and will experience a number of systemic issues that will be most acute against an opponent like Real Madrid.

Graham Potter was replaced by Frank Lampard, who led Everton to the relegation zone of the Premier League this season. The candidacy is at least questionable and controversial.

In the upcoming match, the “aristocrats” will suffer from serious staff shortages in defense. Silva and Badiashile refuse to help them, and Azpilicueta is threatened.

Despite the high stage of the tournament, I think the game will be fruitful. Due to the losses in defence, Chelsea’s only chance of success in this match will be a more aggressive attack. Fortunately, after the winter transfer window, the “aristocrats” seriously strengthened in the last third of the field.
