Naples Pass

Napoli are one of the best teams not only in Italy but also in Europe. This is clearly evidenced by its 3rd place in the Opta world ranking. In the national championship, the Azzurri lead the championship race with 14 points. In terms of the expected number of goals scored (xg = 1.77) and conceded (xga = 0.84), they are ranked 2nd in the league.

However, in matches against Milan, this does not always help. Luciano Spalletti’s men have faced the Rossoneri three times this season and only won once, and that with a slippery 2-1. Importantly, in each of these matches, Napoli did not have top scorer – Victor Osimen (21+4), who is already ready to help his club.

Milan are the reigning Italian champions but are unlikely to confirm their status this season. The only way to redeem yourself for a bad season is to finish as far as possible in the Champions League. In the first match, Stefano Piola’s team barely beat the rival, but it is unlikely to be enough.

It is worth noting that the Rossoneri were unable to beat Napoli in xg even without Victor Ocimen (21+4). In the national championship, the “reds and blacks” average 1.57 xg with an allowable 1.08 xg.

I think Napoli at full strength will easily beat Milan and advance to the next stage.
