Calgary flames

The “Lights” managed to gain momentum at the right moment, finishing in their favor 5 out of 6 fights so far. Thanks to such results, and especially the victory in the previous meeting over Winnipeg (3: 1), Calgary is still a serious contender for promotion to the playoffs, as it is tied on points with the last team in the top eight. A week ago, Sutter’s team played in Vancouver, beating their opponent 5-4 in overtime.

Throughout the last month, the “orcas” presented impressive results, worthy of competition with teams of various levels. But a long high-profile run with a full hospital ended with Vancouver suffering 4 straight defeats to St. Louis, Calgary, Los Angeles and Seattle. Losstreak managed to stop in a previous game against one of Chicago’s major outsiders, but in one personal (3) game this season, Tocquet’s team was unable to beat the “lights” in regulation time.

Forecast

Calgary has entered the playoffs and is showing positive results in the deciding games of the season. With reckless Vancouver, it’s unlikely they’ll be able to close, as the orca style assumes playing on a collision course. The hosts are ranked 4th in the league in terms of goals conceded, which motivated visitors can take advantage of to score much-needed points, as in all three personal matches this season – 3-4 OT, 3-2, 5-4 OT.
